Search for Sites in the Findspots database

Location record

The Location record card displays detailed information about the previously selected discovery site.

Roman Province shows the ancient Roman province where the findspot was located, providing historical geographical context. Findspot path indicates the full hierarchical location where the object was discovered, from country to the specific site or context. Findspot name provides the full name of the site where the object was found. Dating gives the estimated date or chronological context for the object or findspot.

Badges may appear above this information, displaying the total count of actors, inscriptions, and objects.

Google Map section

If the findspot is geolocated in the project database, its location will be shown on the Google Map.

Points are indicated on the map by the map pin icon, and areas are indicated by polygons.

The number inside the map pin corresponds to the total number of objects found at that location. Please note that this total may include objects belonging to several individuals who share the same discovery site.

Clicking on a pin opens a window displaying the list of characters who share that location, along with the total number of objects for each individual.
